Women & Child devlopment Programmes

Supporting Training and Employment Programme (STEP) is a major programme of the Ministry of Women and Child Development , GOI. VARDAN implemented Step Programme on Vermi Compost and Organic Farming for 500 rural women in Doiwala Block of Dehradun . The programme focused on providing self employment and training to 500 rural women on Vermi Composting and Supporting the production and marketing of produce to local markets and Institutions to generate income for the rural women.

UDISHA is a world bank funded programmme that supports the nutrition and preventive health care cause of pregnat mothers and pre-school going small children. VARDAN was entrusted upon running a Anganwadi Training institute for providing refresher and job oriented training to Angan Wadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand . The institute provided residential Orientation and Job Training to more than 500 Anganwadi Workers of Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts.

VARDAN received financial support from Central Social Welfare Board, GOI for running a Family Counseling Centre in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand . The centre focused on counseling assistance to the separated and domestic violence affected women through Counselers besides providing them legal advice and police assistance in case of need.
